Are you an experienced Business Development Manager who is immediately available for work?

The Role:

A University are seeking a Business Development Manager to join them asap on a temporary contract until the end of August, but with the potential to go permanent thereafter. You will join a newly created team who work with Academics across the university to generate income for the university. This could be through obtaining sponsorships from businesses or selling short-courses to businesses, for example. Currently there is also demand for clients booking the university as a venue to hold their events, so taking and coordinating those bookings is part of your remit.

Your role as Business Development Manager is all about fostering great working relationships with internal stakeholders and new clients. You will attend networking events and, in the longer term, the role will require you to cold call and implement marketing strategies, so a confident and tenacious individual is required.

The role is a really varied one and is an exciting opportunity to work within the higher education sector.

Hours:

This is a full-time role requiring you to be based on-campus 3 days a week mostly, but with sometimes the requirement for a 4th day, and to work some evenings and the very occasional Saturday. Time off in lieu will be provide when this is required.

Location:

The role is based in East London across two sites.

Salary:

Salary: £38,022pa - £40,080pa - this role will be a temporary contract via TPP paid on an hourly rate of £20.89ph - £22.02ph, subject to experience.

Experience required:

  • Experience of working in a sales / BD role, generating new business
  • Demonstrable experience of working to targets/KPIs and achieving goals
  • Confident and professional individual who enjoys conversations and networking
  • Professionalism to represent the university at events and in relationship development
  • Driven and determined.
  • An interest in the higher education sector
