Position: Volunteer Maintenance Person

Description:

We are seeking a reliable and proactive individual to serve as a Volunteer Maintenance Person. This role is essential for ensuring the upkeep and functionality of our facilities and grounds.

Responsibilities:

1. Conduct routine maintenance tasks, including painting, plumbing, electrical repairs, and carpentry work.
2. Inspect and repair equipment
3. Perform minor landscaping and groundskeeping duties, such as mowing lawns, trimming hedges, and clearing debris.
4. Assist with setting up and tearing down equipment and furniture for events or activities.
5. Monitor building systems and report any issues or malfunctions to appropriate staff members.
6. Maintain cleanliness and organization in maintenance storage areas and workshops.
7. Respond promptly to maintenance requests from staff or residents.
8. Collaborate with other volunteers and staff members to prioritize and complete maintenance tasks efficiently.

Requirements:

1. Basic knowledge of maintenance and repair techniques across various trades 
2. Experience with using common maintenance tools and equipment.
3. Ability to follow instructions and work independently with minimal supervision.
4. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
5. Physical strength and stamina to perform tasks that involve lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
6. Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
7. Willingness to learn new skills and adapt to changing maintenance needs.
