Want to work for a mission-led organisation helping improve lives during challenging journeys?
Our client is looking for an Events Assistant to join them on an interim basis for 6 weeks (possibly longer). You’ll play a key role in supporting the delivery of meaningful events and ensuring every supporter feels valued — whether that’s through a warm welcome email, a timely thank-you call, or managing the shared inbox with care and efficiency.
This is a fantastic opportunity to combine your events, admin and customer service skills with a cause that truly matters.
Role: Events Assistant
Organisation type: Charity
Salary/rate: £13.50+ per hour
Working arrangements: Mon to Fri - 9am – 5pm
Location: WFH/Remote
Employment type: Temporary (6 weeks with possible extension)
CLOSING DATE: (CVs on a rolling basis)
Short description of the role:
• Provide administrative and inbox support across the events and fundraising portfolio
• Respond to supporter enquiries via email and phone, offering excellent customer service
• Handle sensitive conversations with empathy and professionalism
• Make outgoing calls to check in with fundraisers and offer support throughout their journey
• Confidently manage incoming enquiries through a shared events inbox
• Use the organisation’s CRM (Microsoft Dynamics) to update records and track interactions
• Welcome new event participants warmly and send timely thank-you messages
• Support stewardship of supporters taking part in flagship events like the London Marathon
• Collaborate with the wider team to ensure smooth event delivery and supporter experience
To be considered for the role you will have the following, skills, knowledge, and experience.
• Strong communication and customer service skills - able to support, reassure, and energise supporters
• Attention to detail – especially for managing inboxes, databases, and donor records
• Organisation & time management – juggling tasks across multiple events and priorities
• Team player attitude – able to work collaboratively and pick things up quickly
• Confident phone manner – comfortable making and receiving calls, including sensitive conversations
• IT proficiency - comfortable using Outlook, Excel, and CRM systems
The successful candidate will bring experience in customer service, administration, or supporter care, ideally within a non-profit, charity, or membership organisation. They’ll be confident handling a busy shared inbox and have a good understanding of fundraising events and supporter journeys.
Experience using CRM systems is essential - while Dynamics is the system in place, strong general CRM skills and a willingness to learn are key. Exposure to mass participation events like the London Marathon would be a bonus, along with previous experience welcoming or stewarding supporters, volunteers, or participants.
