Residential Support Services

Text area to add the contact information Blank

Aiming to promote vulnerable service users to live as independently as possible, residential support services include help with living at home, social care assessments, care needs assessments, paying for social care or finding a residential care home. Your clients could include children in care, or adults with physical or learning disabilities, mental health problems, addiction issues or other emotional or social needs.

Responsibilities & Duties for Residential Support Roles

Residential support workers look after the physical and mental wellbeing of children or vulnerable adults in care with aspirations to succeed and make a positive impact on their lives both short-term and long-term.

Skills Required for Residential Support Jobs

Excellent and efficient report writing skills as you would also be expected to keep accurate records and write reports. These may be on complex matters affecting individual children or adults, and be used in case reviews and future care plans.

Flexibility around your schedule as you can often be on a shift rota including weekends, evenings and sleep-in duties. You may also be on call at times.

Being a car driver is a common desirable client requirement we are now seeing in the social care sector as sometimes you may have to drive, for example, to take the service users to social activities and family contacts.
