TPP have been recruiting for marketing and communications professionals for over 14 years, across major non-profit and public sector organisations throughout the UK. Our consultants are market specialists and experts in sourcing Publications Officers & Managers for both permanent and temporary appointments.
Publications Officers work in close cooperation with a Publications Manager to provide administrative support to the wider team or function. Non-profit publications have seen various changes over recent years, both offline and online, and these have been reflected in the recruitment of Publications Officer and Publications Manager jobs.
The overall objective of a Publications Officer is to manage the production of a wide range of publications and other materials for an organisation both online and offline that contribute to raising their profile and awareness. These can vary depending on the reader, but will generally cover a range of the organisation’s stakeholders, internal and external, from recipients of the organisation’s services to potential donors and volunteers.
Acting as the organisation’s lead publishing advisor, Publications Managers will be responsible for the implementation of its branding policies. A Publications Manager’s job description includes the successful supervision of the entire publishing process and maintaining and reporting on production standards and targets.
Depending on the size of the organisation, some Publications Managers work alongside external agencies, to effectively deliver various materials, such as reports, posters, leaflets, brochures and website copy.
For any Publications Officer or Manager vacancy, organisations require strategic thinkers with the ability to write and ideally will have experience of software packages such as Quark Xpress, Photoshop and web content management systems. Publications Manager jobs require individuals with experience in managing publications from inception to completion.
