On Tuesday 27th September, we, TPP, held our 2nd quiz of the year, which gives charities the chance to win a £1,000 donation to go towards supporting their beneficiaries. We hosted the night at Balls Brothers with drinks, chips and sweets provided and each team had their very own TPP host to help answer the challenging questions.
We had 70 charity employees from 14 charities participate on the night, competing to win the £1000 prize for their charity. The charities included teams from British Lung Foundation, Bliss, Bow Arts, British Science Association, Education Support Partnership, Family Action, Honeypot, I CAN, Living Streets, MyBnk, Prisoners’ Education Trust, Right to Play, St John Ambulance and Tibet Relief Fund. We also gave away a bottle of champagne for 2nd place and a box of luxury chocolates was up for grabs for the ‘Best Team Name’.
All in all, there were seven rounds in the quiz, covering general knowledge, history, geography, tv and film, and sport. We kick started with a ‘Picto-movie’ round which consisted of 12 well known movies. We also had our home grown singing maestro, Glen, who sang a line of a famous song, which had everyone joining in!
British Lung Foundation won ‘Best Team Name’ with ‘Simply the breath’ and were also the runners up taking home the champagne. Big congratulations go out to Prisoners’ Education Trust, also known as ‘Alca Jazz’, who finished first with 78 out of 82 points, taking home the jackpot in our TPP Quiz.
Some of the questions from the night:
- Which NFL team are known as the 'Packers’?
- Bora Bora is an island in which ocean?
- In which year did colour television transmissions start in the UK?
- From which children's programme did the line? As if by magic the shopkeeper appeared?
- According to the Kennel Club’s statistics for registered dogs, what was the most popular dog breed in the UK in 2016?
Could you answer the above questions? How would you fair in our #TPPQuiz? You can view all the photos from the night on our Facebook page.
