On Tuesday 21st March, we, TPP, held our 7th Quiz which gives charities the chance to win a £1,000 donation to go towards supporting their beneficiaries. We hosted the night at Balls Brothers with drinks, chips and sweets provided and each team had their very own TPP host to help answer the challenging questions.
We had 70 charity employees from 14 charities participate on the night, competing to win the £1000 cheque. The charities included teams from MS International Federation, Nordoff Robbins Music Therapy Centre, World Child Cancer, Groundwork, Shakespeare Schools Foundation, a2dominion, Fields in Trust, National Autistic Society, Blind Veterans, Bliss, Carers Network, Cystic Fibrosis, BounceBack Project and Orchid Cancer. We also gave away a bottle of champagne for 2nd place and an exquisite box of luxury chocolates was up for grabs for the ‘Best Team Name’.
All in all, there were seven rounds in the quiz, covering general knowledge, history, geography, tv and film, and sport. We kick started with a ‘Name that mo’ picture round which consisted of 12 well known and well-groomed moustaches. We also had our home grown singing maestro, Glen, who sang a line of a famous song, which had everyone joining in!
Orchid Cancer won ‘Best Team Name’ with ‘Diabollockal’ and Blind Veterans came second place with 73 points, taking home the champagne. Congratulations go out to Cystic Fibrosis, also known as ‘Quiztic Fibrosis’, who finished first with 75 points. The second time they’ve scooped the jackpot in our TPP Quiz.
Some of the questions from the night:
- How many balls are on a snooker table at the start of play?
- In tenpin bowling, what is a Turkey?
- In which year was the first ever Academy Awards?
- How many lines are there in a limerick?
- Under what name did Anna Georgette Gilford find fame this year?
Could you answer the above questions? How would you fair in our #TPPQuiz?! You can view all the photos from the night on our Facebook page.
