Christmas may well bring in an influx of appointments and could possibly mean less time off for staff during this busy period. Bring the festive cheer into your Practice and brighten up staff morale so they feel rewarded and not left out this Christmas.
Why not get your staff into the Christmas spirit?
Here are 5 incentives to boost morale amongst staff and create festive atmosphere at your GP practice.
1. Christmas shopping day
Christmas shopping days may be an extra perk but will go a long way with staff. With a busy GP practice, it may be difficult to find time to get the Christmas shop out of the way. For those who leave Christmas shopping until it’s too late, employees at your practice have the chance to do exactly that.
If you’re not able to offer staff a Christmas shopping day, then the next best thing could possibly be a half day. Whether your staff use this time for Christmas activities or just for some time away from the practice, a half day could mean a recharge for the next working day.
3. Secret Santa
Secret Santa is a good way for everyone in the practice to exchange gifts with the element of surprise. Setting a budget between £5-£10 will hardly break the bank and this gives you the opportunity to provide something fun, quirky or a little festive for a colleague.
4. Complimentary team Christmas chocs
Providing Christmas chocolates for the team is a warming Christmas gesture that won’t go unnoticed. As it’s the season of goodwill, a box of chocolates can be given to staff as a Christmas reward for their hard work during the year.
5. Staff Christmas Dinner
You probably won’t be able to get all members of the practice around for a staff Christmas Lunch due to schedules and working hours, however you could throw a staff Christmas dinner instead. Why not have a festive dinner before the Christmas holidays commence?
