At TPP Recruitment, we strongly believe that the best consultants are those specialists who genuinely care about what they do. Everything we do is based on a set of company principles which are embodied by our team and underpin our commitment to helping people and organisations in our sector achieve lasting impact.
In 2015, as well as partnering with over 500 organisations and finding them the best possible employees, our TPP Giving Back programme of pro bono services, volunteering and fundraising has saved the sector valuable resources. Below is a quick overview of what TPP employees have donated:
87 clients have used our boardroom in 2015, saving not for profit organisations approx. £27,000 on venue hire costs*. We offer this completely free of charge for away days, team building exercises, board strategy days, or interviews.
“I just wanted to thank you for hosting our meeting yesterday and helping out with all the arrangements. This really helped us out of a tight spot. The meeting went well and our trustees were very appreciative of the space”
Sam Collin, Foundation for Assistive Technology – FAST
We recently revamped our office space and meeting rooms to make an even nicer environment for our candidates, clients and staff. You can view the pictures of our new office, including our new boardroom, here.
If you are interested in using our boardroom, or small interview rooms (subject to availability) please use our online form.
*Based on a typical venue hire cost of £250
In 2015, 291 organisations took advantage of our volunteer advertising service, promoting their roles(s) for free via the TPP website, TPP social media sites, and other sector job boards .
At TPP, we love to share knowledge and help boost professional development in the sector. Charity professionals from 146 different organisations have attended our free breakfast seminars and forums throughout the year.
In addition, 31 organisations attended our quiz nights, launched this year, with £3,000 given in prizes to 3 winning charities; the Greenwich Foundation for the Old Royal Naval College, the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health, and the Association of Corporate Treasurers (competing for MicroLoan Foundation).
“A massive thank you for a really enjoyable evening! We really appreciated the invite and, with so many great charities represented, pleased to be in such august company.”
TPP have also promoted learning and development throughout the sector through bursaries and sponsorship for a variety of events and sector groups throughout the year
TPP also support the third sector through corporate memberships with a wide range of professional associations and membership bodies.
Many TPP staff have taken part in sporting challenges for charities throughout 2015, including the Great North Run, the Alzheimer’s Memory Walk, the Guy’s Urban Challenge, Ride100, Muddy Obstacle Course, and Olympic Park 10k, raising over £4,000 for various charities.
TPP also love to dress up and bake cakes for charity, supporting various charity campaigns throughout the year. TPP generously match what our staff raise for these events and we have given over £500 in 2015.
We have produced a variety of reports this year, based on our research in the charity recruitment market.
We survey professionals in the not for profit sector and combine with data from our database to produce our popular salary survey reports.
We also write monthly blogs on recruitment, retention and HR topics to help share best practice.
As part of our commitment to supporting professional development in the third sector, we run a CPD Voucher scheme in partnership with the Institute of Fundraising. Over £900 worth of IoF membership/training supplied for fundraisers through this scheme
Since launching our fundraising mentoring programme, we have matched 4 fundraisers with senior fundraising professionals, allowing them to share best practice and boost their professional development.
"When Emily asked me to be a mentor I wasn't sure if I would have much to offer, or even worse that I was about to divulge all my trade secrets! I was matched with Becky, who is just starting out and works in a different sector for a much larger charity. We had a lot to talk about. I started by brainstorming all the characteristics and skills a fundraiser needs to attract funding from different sources and we talked through them, identifying skills that could be developed or practiced so that Becky had a greater chance of achieving her goal - a role in corporate fundraising.
I learnt a lot too, and have extended my network to include a very competent and enthusiastic fundraiser who I wouldn't have met without the TPP mentoring scheme."

We have been running our not for profit temp of the month for over a year now, recognising the outstanding performance, reliability and flexibility of our valuable temporary workers. Our temps help us provide an exceptional service to our clients and we really appreciate the effort they make.
So overall, 2015 has been a busy year for TPP, with lots going on to help support charities and their staff. If you have any suggestions for activities we could do, please let us know.
