Role title:                Volunteer Youth Worker

Locations:              Inspire Youth Zone all areas

Responsible to:     Coordinators – Juniors / Seniors

Frequency:             Weekly/Weekends/School holidays                  

Hours available:     Minimum 3 hours – Maximum 8 hours (minimum 6-month period)

Inspire Youth Zone aims to enable all young people, especially those from disadvantaged circumstances, to realise their potential and become happy, responsible and caring citizens. Every day the club makes a real and lasting difference to the lives of young people. 

The role:

We are looking for volunteers to make a difference to the lives of young people by assisting in providing play activities for children and young people ages 8-12 (juniors) and 12-19 (seniors) years old after school, weekends and during school holidays.  Encourage young people to get involved in a range of activities and be willing to actively take part.

 We need volunteers who:

  • Are passionate about working with children and young people.
  • Can establish positive relationships with children and young people and be a positive role model.
  • Ability to start a conversation with young people
  • Engage young people in small games
  • Ability to build professional relationships
  • Ability to multi task
  • Able to meet the needs of young people
  • Can work with children and young people with diverse needs in small and large groups. 
  • Are creative, enthusiastic, confident and resilient.
  • Will adhere to policies and procedures at all times with particular emphasis on equality and diversity, health and safety and safeguarding.
