About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced volunteer to help expand our impact by securing funding opportunities, building relationships with corporate donors, and increasing awareness of our programs. This role is ideal for someone with a background in grant writing, fundraising, community outreach, public relations, or nonprofit development who is passionate about making a difference.
Key Responsibilities
Grant Research and Applications
- Find suitable grant opportunities from foundations, government agencies, and other funding sources.
- Prepare, write, and give compelling grant applications and proposals.
- Track grant deadlines, reporting requirements, and funding outcomes.
- Collaborate with organisational leadership to gather information needed for applications.
Corporate Donations and Sponsorships
- Research and find potential corporate donors and sponsors.
- Develop and support relationships with businesses and philanthropic organisations.
- Prepare sponsorship proposals, donation requests, and partnership presentations.
- Follow up with prospective donors and support records of outreach activities.
Beneficiary Outreach
- Connect with individuals, groups, and organisations that may receive help from our services and programs.
- Build relationships with community partners, schools, nonprofits, and other stakeholders.
- Help in finding and engaging potential program participants and beneficiaries.
Media and Public Relations
- Reach out to local and regional media outlets to promote organisational initiatives and achievements.
- Aid with press releases, media pitches, and public awareness campaigns.
- Help find opportunities for interviews, feature stories, and community engagement.
Qualifications
- Experience writing successful grant applications and funding proposals.
- Experience securing corporate donations, sponsorships, or fundraising support.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Comfortable networking and building relationships with diverse stakeholders.
- Experience in community outreach, nonprofit development, fundraising, public relations, or a related field.
- Organised, self-motivated, and able to work independently.
- Passion for community service and mission-driven work.
Preferred Qualifications
- Earlier nonprofit or charitable organisation experience.
- Knowledge of donor management or CRM systems.
- Experience working with media contacts and public relations initiatives.
