Havencare is recruiting three Trustees to strengthen financial assurance, service quality and digital oversight as it transforms its homes and support.

  • Finance and Audit Trustee: A qualified accountant who will provide strategic financial challenge and oversight of audit, assurance, budgeting and risk. The role sits on the Finance, Audit & Risk Committee, supports a planned handover from the current specialist postholder, and could lead to becoming Committee Chair.
  • Housing, Regulation and Service Quality Trustee: A housing or social-care leader who will strengthen Board oversight of safe, high-quality homes and support. Key areas include CQC and Care Act regulation, safeguarding, compliance, co-production and service delivery; the main contribution will be to the Operations & Housing Committee.
  • Digital and Cyber Trustee: A digital, data or technology leader who will help Havencare use technology to improve outcomes while managing cyber, information-governance and transformation risks. The focus is secure, inclusive, people-centred digital change, with experience in AI governance or accessibility also valued.

All three roles require strategic judgement, constructive challenge and a commitment to Havencare’s purpose of enabling people with learning disabilities and autism to live with opportunity and choice.

To apply, send a current CV and a tailored cover letter to recruitment@havencare.com by 10:00am on Monday 16 November 2026.

Your letter should explain:

  • why you want to join Havencare;
  • how your experience and perspective meet the requirements of the chosen Trustee role; and
  • what you would contribute to the Board.

Havencare welcomes applicants with a broad range of backgrounds, perspectives and lived experience, particularly those currently underrepresented in charity governance. Previous Trustee experience is not required; induction, training and ongoing support are provided.

The recruitment pack and application process can be made available in an accessible format. Candidates can also arrange an informal pre-application conversation with the Chief Executive by contacting Hayley Arkinstall, Head of Governance, at hayley.arkinstall@havencare.com.

Interviews are planned for the week beginning Monday 30 November 2026, via Microsoft Teams. Shortlisted candidates will receive details of the selection process and pre-appointment checks, and applicants should review the Safer Recruitment Policy and Employment Privacy Notice before applying.
