We are currently recruiting Trustees to join the Board at Involve.
We are a community‑led charity working across Kent, delivering services in partnership with the NHS, local authorities and local communities. We now have over 140 staff and support more than 30,000 people each year through a wide range of programmes focused on improving health and wellbeing.
Our work includes pioneering social prescribing in Kent, supporting carers, working with children and families, and addressing health inequalities. We are proud of our impact, while recognising that we continue to learn and adapt as the needs of our communities change.
The Board plays a key role in shaping our strategic direction and ensuring strong governance. It is a rewarding voluntary role, offering the opportunity to contribute to decisions that affect thousands of people and to work alongside a committed and thoughtful group of Trustees.
We recognise that people bring different experiences and perspectives to governance. You do not need to have been a Trustee before. We are looking for individuals who are willing to learn, think strategically, offer constructive challenge and work collaboratively.
Trustees contribute to decisions on areas such as finances, service priorities, strategy, policy and organisational risk. Support and induction will be provided, and we are committed to helping Trustees develop in the role.
At present, we are particularly interested in people with experience in:
We are committed to building a more diverse and inclusive Board. We welcome applications from people of all backgrounds and life experiences, including those who may not have seen themselves reflected in boards previously.
We are particularly keen to hear from people with lived experience of the issues we work with, including long-term health conditions, disability, caring responsibilities, poverty or childhood adversity. We value lived experience alongside professional experience and recognise the importance of different perspectives in shaping better decisions.
The role involves attending Board meetings (six per year, with a mix of in-person and virtual), along with committee or working group involvement. Meetings are usually held in Maidstone, and we aim to provide flexibility wherever possible.
These roles are unremunerated in line with charity regulation, though reasonable expenses are covered.
