We are proud to be partnering with Possible (legal name, the 10:10 Foundation) a charity that enables people to take practical action on climate change and combines these local actions to inspire a more innovative approach to the issue at every level of society. Whether it be the world’s first televised climate debate, connecting solar panels directly to railways, rolling out solar schools programme, campaigning for offshore wind or creating the worlds’ first climate perks – employee benefits scheme.  Anything is ‘Possible’ to combat and inspire climate action.

If you also have the desire to tackle the climate crisis this is a great opportunity to join their Board as a new Trustee.   The Board currently comprises nine trustees with a range of expertise from campaigning, business, science, engineering and fundraising, they provide ongoing strategic direction, critical challenge and helping hands to ensure that Possible continues to steer it’s work with the size of impact the climate crisis demands.

Possible is specifically looking for a Trustee with a background and ability to advise in corporate sustainability, CSR or ESG and/or contacts.

Previous Board or charity experience is not necessary – full training will be provided, and you will be partnered with a mentor who will provide you with support and guidance in your trustee appointment, diversity of thought and lived experience is more important to Possible’s mission.

The time you’ll need to dedicate is equivalent to one day a month, which comprises of four board meetings a year (two of which are held in the head office in Camden – two are held remotely) plus any necessary time to prepare, occasional contact in between meetings to attend to urgent issues, and ad-hoc time to attend events etc. Expenses are available to cover travel and any support that is required for childcare/care of any dependents. Possible are happy to discuss any other reasonable adjustments required. Appointments are made for a three-year fixed term, and this can be renewed.

It's important Possible represent diversity of thought, lived experience and wide social economics through their Board to impact their decision making.  They welcome applications from every community and are particularly encouraging of applicants from minority ethnic groups and/or disabled people, candidates aged under 35 and/or candidates over the age of 65, and from people who can represent the views of people living in Scotland, Wales and the South West as they are currently under represented.  Possible will not discriminate, ensuring that each candidate is assessed only in accordance with ability to perform the role.

UK Charity law stipulates that you must be 18 to act as a trustee.

To apply for this role, please either reply to this advert with an updated version of your CV or contact Lisa Ross or Matt Adams on executive@tpp.co.uk or 0207 198 6060. In the first instance you will be sent an information pack with details about the role and recruitment process, but the team are on hand to answers any questions that you may have about the role, so please do get in touch if you want a confidential/informal discussion.

The closing date for applications is 9.00am 26th January 2022.
