Action Village India

Closing Date: 22nd October 2026.  Action Village India is based in  Dalston, London

We are looking for a Treasurer, with an interest in India, to join our committed board of Trustees at an exciting time for Action Village India. Ideally, you will be a qualified or part qualified accountant, with experience of the charity sector, but we would still love to hear from you if you have the relevant financial experience and keen interest to support our work.

About Action Village India

Action Village India is a small UK based charity that supports Indian partner organisations who work alongside villagers in some of the most remote parts of rural India so they can improve their lives, livelihoods and resilience. We work towards an India which is just, fair and inclusive, where all people regardless of sex, gender identity, ethnicity, caste, religion or belief, can benefit from the country’s economic development and lift themselves out of poverty.

At the heart of our work, are our partnerships; many of which have spanned decades.  Partner organisations are led by Indians and whether these are large or small organisations, all work directly at the grassroots level across rural India – from Bihar and Jharkhand in the North, in Odisha and Madhya Pradesh and down to Tamil Nadu in the South. The communities they work with are some of the poorest in India.

For more information on what we do, please go to our website: Action Village India · Hand In Hand with Rural India

As the Treasurer you will help us maintain and strengthen effective governance of the charity’s financial affairs, collaborating with staff and trustees to ensure that:-

  • Proper processes and procedures exist for ensuring all financial records, including decisions and delegations, are maintained;
  • Appropriate reporting to our board of trustees on a quarterly basis

The role is unremunerated.  You will also find more details of our team of committed staff and trustees on our website.
