Moira Canal Festival seeks enthusiastic Volunteer Site Manager

The Moira Canal Festival is a highlight of the village calendar, bringing the crowds to the historic Moira Furnace site every May to celebrate local heritage and support the restoration of the Ashby Canal.

Following our Site Manager’s retirement, we are seeking a practical, organised and community-minded volunteer to help make the May 2027 festival a success.

As Site Manager, you will oversee the event on site from Friday to Sunday, with planning spread over the coming months. You will be supported by an experienced committee that handles bookings, publicity and entertainment. Our outgoing Site Manager will help with the handover, explaining site plans, layouts and general requirements to ensure a smooth transition.  

Monthly evening meetings are held in Snarestone; most other matters can be handled online.

The next event takes place at Moira Furnace Museum & Country Park, DE12 6AT, over the weekend of 22,23 May 2027.
