Job Title: Running Buddy

Location: Maidstone

Job role: What be you’ll doing

Looking for a reliable, upbeat running partner to support a visually impaired runner. You’ll provide light guidance on routes, pace, and obstacles while keeping runs safe, smooth, and enjoyable.

What you’ll do:

  • Run alongside and give clear, simple directions
  • Communicate upcoming terrain, turns, and hazards
  • Help maintain a steady, comfortable pace
  • Offer encouragement and positive energy

You are:

  • A confident runner with good spatial awareness
  • Calm, communicative, and attentive
  • Reliable and punctual
  • Happy to build trust and rapport over time
  • To be able to deal with information in line with our data protection and confidentiality procedures
  •  Follow safeguarding procedures and report any concerns. 

No formal experience needed, just awareness, consistency, and a great attitude.

Training required for this role (all delivered vis e-learning)

  • Safeguarding
  • H&S
  • Manual Handling
  • How to be Eye Care Aware
  • Fire Safety
  • Infection Control
  • Data Security and Confidentiality
  • First Aid

All these courses will take approximately 40-60 minutes, apart from the First Aid which is 2 hours.
