This is a broad, hands-on role combining management accounting, financial operations and governance. You’ll work closely with senior colleagues and budget holders, providing clear financial information that supports good decision-making across the organisation.

The organisation is going through a period of development, making this a particularly good opportunity for someone who enjoys improving systems and processes while maintaining accurate and dependable financial operations.

Why this role may appeal
  • £50,000 FTE, £40,000 actual salary
  • 0.8 FTE, working 4 days per week
  • Hybrid working, with 2 days per week in the London office
  • A varied role spanning management accounts, budgeting, reporting, payroll, VAT and audit support
  • Opportunity to improve financial systems, controls and processes
  • Work within a purpose-led organisation in the arts sector
Key responsibilities
  • Preparing management accounts, cashflow forecasts and financial reports
  • Supporting annual budgeting and financial planning
  • Working with budget holders to provide clear financial information and guidance
  • Maintaining accurate and effective finance systems
  • Overseeing transactional finance, reconciliations and payroll liaison
  • Managing VAT returns and supporting statutory compliance
  • Supporting year-end accounts and the annual audit
  • Maintaining effective financial controls and contributing to strong financial governance.
What we’re looking for
  • A professionally qualified accountant, such as ACCA or CIMA
  • Strong management accounting and financial reporting experience
  • Excellent Excel and finance systems skills
  • Strong working knowledge of Xero
  • Experience of budgeting, reconciliations, VAT and preparing accounts for audit
  • Knowledge of payroll processes and statutory compliance
  • The ability to communicate financial information clearly to non-finance colleagues
  • A collaborative, organised and solutions-focused approach
  • Experience of charity or not-for-profit finance would be valuable
This is an opportunity to bring strong technical finance expertise to an organisation with a clear cultural purpose, while having genuine scope to improve how finance supports colleagues and decision-making.

We want you to have every opportunity to demonstrate your skills, ability and potential; please contact us if you require any assistance or adjustment so that we can help with making the application process work for you.
