Join Fairfield Enterprise and help talented young people from disadvantaged backgrounds build careers in finance

Job Title: Director of Prorgammes and Partnerships
Salary: £70,000 to £80,000
Location/Hybrid Working: Remote

Are you an experienced financial services professional who wants to use your knowledge, networks and experience to create opportunities for talented young people from disadvantaged backgrounds?

Fairfield Enterprise provides specialist careers coaching and guidance to ambitious young people aged 16 to 24 from disadvantaged backgrounds, helping them access and succeed in high value careers within the finance industry.

We are looking for an experienced and exceptionally well-networked financial services professional to lead the charity’s day to day work and help shape its next stage of development.

Why join Fairfield Enterprise?

This is a rare opportunity to combine financial services expertise, an established professional network and a passion for social mobility in a role where you can make a direct difference.

As Fairfield Enterprise’s senior employed position and sole employee reporting to the Board, you will take hands on responsibility for mentoring, programme delivery, partnerships, fundraising, outreach and the effective running of the charity.

What you’ll be doing
  • Leading Fairfield Enterprise’s day-to-day activity and helping shape its future development.
  • Leading the charity’s mentoring programme, supporting approximately 80 to 100 university students.
  • Providing individual careers guidance and helping young people access internships, work experience and graduate opportunities.
  • Building relationships across financial services and mobilising your network to generate funding, mentoring and career opportunities.
  • Developing relationships with sponsors, partners, schools, colleges and other supporters.
  • Representing Fairfield Enterprise as a credible and passionate ambassador for social mobility.
  • Overseeing the practical operation of a small charity, including budgets, CRM, communications, events and administration.
About you

You will bring significant financial services experience, credibility within the sector and a genuine commitment to helping others succeed.

You will have:
  • Strong knowledge of investment, asset management or a related financial services environment.
  • A strong and relevant professional network, including senior level relationships.
  • Experience of mentoring, coaching or supporting the career development of others.
  • The confidence to build partnerships and make direct asks for funding, opportunities and practical support.
  • Excellent relationship building, communication and presentation skills.
  • Strong organisation, judgement and the ability to work independently.
  • A practical and resourceful approach, with the willingness to move between senior stakeholder engagement and hands on delivery.
Formal coaching qualifications are not essential. What matters is meaningful mentoring or coaching experience and a genuine commitment to supporting young people to fulfil their potential.

If you want to use the experience, credibility and relationships you have built during your career to widen access to financial services and create life changing opportunities for young people, we would love to hear from you.

We particularly welcome candidates from diverse backgrounds who can bring different perspectives, experiences and networks to Fairfield Enterprise.

We want you to have every opportunity to demonstrate your skills, ability and potential; please contact us if you require any assistance or adjustment so that we can help with making the application process work for you.
