TPP Recruitment is supporting a growing awarding organisation to recruit an Assessment Developer (Design). This is a newly created role within an expanding product and development team, offering the opportunity to play a key role in shaping assessments, particularly within apprenticeship and end-point assessment programmes. Salary: £27,400 - £32,490 per annum, depending on experience
Employment type: Permanent
Working arrangements: Fully remote
Working pattern: Full‑time, 35 hours per week

About the Role
 
As an Assessment Developer (Design), you will be responsible for designing, developing and maintaining high-quality assessments that meet regulatory requirements and accurately measure qualification outcomes. Initially, a significant focus will be on apprenticeship and end-point assessment design.
 
Working closely with subject matter experts, assessment specialists and internal stakeholders, you will develop assessment strategies, create assessment materials and support the continuous improvement of assessment products.
 
 
Key Responsibilities
 
  • Develop assessment models, blueprints and assessment strategies
  • Design and quality assure assessment materials, tasks and mark schemes
  • Create assessments across multiple formats, including digital assessments
  • Ensure assessments meet regulatory requirements and quality standards
  • Support pilot testing and evaluation of assessment materials
  • Analyse data and feedback to improve assessment validity and performance
  • Develop marking guidance, exemplar materials and standardisation resources
  • Collaborate with subject experts, reviewers and assessment teams
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and assessment innovation
  • Monitor developments across the assessment and qualifications landscape
 
 
Skills / Experience Required
 
  • Experience working within a UK Awarding Organisation
  • Strong understanding of assessment theory and assessment strategy design
  • Experience designing assessments and assessment methodologies
  • Knowledge of current qualification and assessment reforms
  • Excellent written communication and content development skills
  • Strong analytical and project management skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and quality assurance skills
  • Experience designing apprenticeship or end-point assessments (highly desirable)
  • Assessment-related qualifications (highly desirable)
  • Experience using online assessment platforms and digital tools would be beneficial
