Business Development is the broad term for any role involving sales, or the pursuit of strategic opportunities, such as cultivating partnerships or other commercial partnerships. Here at TPP, we make a clear distinction between Business Development and Fundraising. The latter, solely focusing on income generation rather than the maximisation of income via the sale of a product or service. A strong business developer will have the ability to build relationships, communicate effectively over the phone and in person.
Typical Business Development roles include: Telesales, Client Relationship Officer / Manager, Account Manager, Business Development Manager, Head of Business Development
Responsibilities & duties for business development roles include: proactive relationship building, via telephone and marketing campaigns, dealing with bids and tenders, stakeholder engagement, implementing tailored and consultative sales approach and methods, forging long term relationships, setting and reaching KPIs and targets.
