Community Fundraising engages supporters and volunteers to raise well needed funds for charitable causes within local regions. Such events may be run as part of a non-profit organisation's national strategy. Community Fundraiser jobs often incorporate events fundraising at a more regional level and require coordination and support of the fundraising efforts of various participants.
Community Fundraisers need to able to organise events such as school fetes, church groups, Christmas bazaars, or regional sponsored runs that are part of a national charity’s wider planning. By developing your volunteer network over time you can provide a worthwhile income stream for a charity directly from the community that would benefit from the support that your non-profit organisation can offer.
Other typical responsibilities in Community Fundraising jobs include building up local media contacts to help improve awareness in relevant publications and media platforms to ensure maximum exposure from the organised events.
