Executive level IT positions in non-proft and public sector organisations will come in the form of a Chief Technology Officer (CTO), Head of IT or IT Director and will report to the Chief Executive.
Less technical in nature, these positions will require extensive management ability, and a track-record of engaging with multiple stakeholders. The long-term IT strategy and technology roadmap will be developed by the IT Director. The IT Director will also ensure the organisation is up to date with the latest technology trends and legislative updates by attending networking events and seminars. In smaller non-profit and public sector organisations, the IT Director may have some jurisdiction over other areas of corporate resources such as Finance or Facilities.
