Jobs within development in a non-profit and public sector organisations will typically involve web development or CRM development. QA / Testing and back-end programming roles are also prevalent to a lesser degree. Non-profit and public sector organisations will often have the need to customise and improve their website or their CRM, and to improve the link between the two with integration projects.
Programmers will typically work with; Javascript, .NET technologies, HTML or C++, and experience with CMS technologies such as Wordpress and Drupal also in high demand. The role of a QA Tester is to test the features and functionality of a non-profit organisations website and software set-up.
CRM Developers within the sector often undertake projects involving the development of bespoke modules, in addition to upgrades of existing systems. This could be an in-house CRM or an off the shelf product such as MS Dynamics.
