Estates professionals are highly skilled and knowledgeable and tend to have both the soft and the hard services experience. In some charities and non-profit organisations, the Property Managers or Estates Managers can oversee a portfolio of multiple sites and at times they might have to manage sites based overseas. Property Managers can have responsibility for lease negotiation and contract management. Some of the titles often include: Estates Manager, Property Manager, Asset Manager, Regional Manager.
These candidates usually have a professional qualification and will certainly be knowledgeable in health and safety. Depending on the size of the organisation, the positions might include line management from one to a team of 20-30 members. Divisions which typically fall under estates are; gardening, facilities, building, catering/kitchen and maintenance.
