Why Harlington Hospice needed TPP's support

Harlington Hospice urgently needed a new Finance Manager, during a particularly challenging time of year, the December festive period but they lacked the resources for running a recruitment campaign themselves. 

The CEO of Harlington Hospice, had previously partnered with TPP on recruitment campaigns and having had a positive experience, approached TPP again to support with this vacancy. They required an efficient process that would provide suitable and highly skilled candidates at short notice.



What Harlington Hospice required

A qualified Accountant to oversee operations of day to day accounting with the ability to improve financial reporting & planning for the organisation.

They also required someone who with previous experience of improving financial processes & controls resulting in a more consistent and uniform approach.



What TPP did

We understood that due to the urgency and time constraints, it would be important to consider ways of enhancing the proposed role increasing appeal and retention.  This needed to be carefully balanced  with the needs of Harlington Hospice and the outcomes it was looking for from this role. Here are some of the steps we took:

  • We liaised with the CEO to get a detailed understanding of the role, with a particular focus on the most urgent requirements so that we could focus our search on finding the candidates who could make an impact immediately.

  • The requirement for this role was to be based on-site every day, with no remote working option available. After consulting with the CEO about how this would limit the available candidate pool and our knowledge and understanding of the sector and deep understanding of candidate motivators and requirements in the current climate, we suggested a more flexible/hybrid arrangement to help attract a wider and more diverse range of professionals. They agreed that this was feasible and a  practical solution to help with a successful campaign outcome.

  • We approached our existing, fully screened, compliant and immediately available network of candidates and was able to shortlist a strong selection of candidates within the same day.  

  • Interviews were scheduled to take place 5 days later, at short notice.
