By TPP Recruitment

We have been made aware of a WhatsApp scam in which individuals are posing as TPP Recruitment consultants and advertising fake job opportunities linked to websites designed to collect personal information.

You may have heard of similar scams in the news recently, they are becoming increasingly sophisticated and may be sent via text, WhatsApp, or email. As such we wanted to give you some advice on how to spot a scam and steps to take.

How to spot a scam

TPP Recruitment will never:

  • Ask for personal or financial details (e.g. bank account, date of birth) via WhatsApp, text, or phone call.
  • Charge you for work-finding services – this is illegal under UK law.
  • Contact you about a job via WhatsApp.
  • Use non-professional email addresses or unverified contact details.

What you should do

  • Check that the job advert appears on our official website, www.tpp.co.uk.
  • Verify the consultant’s identity via our website.
  • Look out for poor spelling, grammar and suspicious links.
  • Report any suspicious activity to Action Fraud or Jobs Aware.
  • If the scam involves our name, please notify us at info@tpp.co.uk or 020 7198 6000.

We are a proud member of the Recruitment and Employment Confederation (REC) and adhere to the highest standards of professional conduct. You can find more information about how we handle your data in our Privacy Notice.
