About We Stand
We Stand supports parents and carers whose children have experienced sexual abuse. We are a small, values‑driven charity rooted in compassion, dignity, and practical support. Our board plays a central role in shaping a safe, inclusive, and trauma‑informed organisation.
It is a great time to join us as we embark on developing our new strategy for 2027-2030. Our focus is on putting the needs of those we support at the heart of everything we do, with a clear commitment to Equality, Diversity and Inclusion. Our new strategy will embed lived experience at the core of the organisation and further build a sustainable and robust organisation.
We Stand has an annual turnover of approximately £400,000, which is largely met by income from Trusts and Foundations. In response to an increasingly challenging fundraising environment, we have recently launched a fundraising strategy to diversify our income streams. We are also currently reviewing our Financial Management and Risk policy and our Financial Procedures Manual.
Our long standing and committed treasurer will be retiring from their role in 2026 and we are, therefore, seeking a new trustee to take up the role. The current treasurer will provide a full induction and support via a handover period of up to 3 months to ensure a smooth transition.
What’s involved
The role involves an average commitment of 8-16 hours per month and include:
- Four Board meetings (primarily virtual)
- Participation in one annual in-person away day
- Chair the Finance Committee four times a year (usually 10 days prior to Board meetings)
- Preparation for meetings and occasional input between meetings
- Yearly Trustee training
