Care To Listen is a well‑established, low‑cost counselling service supporting adults across Croydon. As a registered charity (No.1215028), our mission is simple: to make mental health support accessible to everyone.

We are now looking for a Treasurer to join our Board of Trustees—someone who can help guide our financial health as we continue to grow and support our community.

💼 The Role

As our Treasurer, you will play a key role in shaping the financial stability of our charity. You will:

• Provide oversight of the charity’s financial health and reporting
• Attend monthly Board meetings, plus occasional finance discussions
• Advise Directors on budgets, accounts and financial decisions
• Present clear, digestible financial updates
• Ensure compliance with charity accounting standards (SORP)
• Support the preparation and submission of annual accounts

This is an excellent opportunity for someone passionate about using their skills for social good.

👤 About You

We’d love to hear from you if you:

• Hold a financial qualification or bring strong, relevant financial experience
• Can confidently interpret and communicate financial information
• Have experience or interest in charity finance or governance (desirable, not essential)
• Enjoy collaborative working and believe in inclusive community mental health

Whether you’re an experienced finance professional or looking to gain governance experience, your expertise could make a real difference.

⏱️ Time Commitment

12–24 hours per year
 A small time commitment with significant impact.
