Location: Teesside Hospice Trading Offices (Above our store at 410 Linthorpe Road)

Time Requirement: Flexible to suit you, volunteering will be within office hours of 9.00am to 5.00pm, Monday to Friday

DBS Check needed? No

Age Requirements: From 18 years old plus

Role Summary:  As a Retail Admin Volunteer, you'll play a vital role in supporting the smooth running of our retail operations. You’ll assist with processing incoming stock, preparing it for distribution across our 14 shops, handling furniture requests on the phone and via email, and supporting retail events such as our pop-up shops. This is a great opportunity to gain experience in a busy retail admin environment while making a valuable contribution to our cause.

Key Responsibilities

Stock Processing & Distribution:

·         Help process and price new stock arriving at head office.

·         Sort and prepare stock for distribution to our 14 retail shops.

·         Assist with getting stock ready for pop-up shop events.

Administrative Support:

·         Handle phone and email enquiries from shops and customers.

·         Book in furniture collection requests via phone and email.

·         Maintain accurate records and logs of collections and stock movement.

Team Support:

·         Work collaboratively with the retail admin team and shop managers.

·         Provide general admin support as needed to help the team run efficiently.

 

Personal qualities:

·          Friendly and confident telephone manner.

·         Good organisational skills and attention to detail.

·         Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

·         Basic computer skills with knowledge of Excel (email, data entry, etc.).

·         A willingness to learn and a flexible, can-do attitude.

Training requirements:

As a Retail Admin Volunteer you will complete the following training:

· Teesside Hospice mandatory training

· Volunteer induction training

 

Support and supervision:

Your first line of support and for any enquiries will be Anna Cordes to support you in your role.

Communications:

Anna Cordes will regularly provide you with any information updates, training opportunities and upcoming events appropriate to your role.

You will be provided with a Teesside Hospice volunteer badge
