About the Role As
Quality Assurance Coordinator (Theory Exams), you’ll take the lead on one of three
written examinations that run three times a year. You will
coordinate question development and review,
manage the item bank, and
build each paper to specification,
on time and to a
consistently high standard. You’ll work closely with specialist contributors and may supervise an administrator during the assignment.
What a typical week could look like - Preparing and assembling your exam to agreed blueprints and timelines
- Running question writing and review activities; capturing clear outputs
- Managing the question bank so content is accurate, secure and easy to use
- Chairing or supporting committee meetings and follow‑up actions
- Liaising with clinicians and stakeholders to resolve queries and improve clarity
- Recording decisions, checking data, and supporting improvement projects
Key Responsibilities - Plan, assemble and finalise one written exam to agreed specifications and deadlines
- Lead question development and review to ensure fairness, clarity and consistency
- Maintain the question bank and associated records to high standards of accuracy and security
- Coordinate committees and panels; schedule meetings and produce clear notes
- Build constructive relationships with clinical experts and colleagues
- Monitor quality and data to inform decisions, document changes and outcomes
- Support system and format improvements across the exams function
- Be willing to travel occasionally and, at peak times, work beyond core hours
Skills / Experience Required You’ll thrive in this
Quality Assurance Coordinator (Theory Exams) role if you bring:
- Experience developing and reviewing written assessment materials in an exams setting
- Confidence managing large volumes of written content with excellent attention to detail
- Hands‑on experience with question bank systems and strong Microsoft Office skills
- Clear, calm communication and stakeholder skills, including with clinical professionals
- Strong planning and problem‑solving skills to meet multiple deadlines
Interview Process - One stage, held online

- Proposed timeline: end of week commencing 6th October 2025
