Employment type: Permanent
Working arrangements: Hybrid – 2 days per week in the Coventry office + occasional travel for conferences / events, no international travel
Working pattern: Full‑time, 37.5 hours per week

About the Role
 
As Product Development Manager, you will oversee a diverse product portfolio, making sure each product evolves in line with market insight, customer feedback and regulatory requirements. You’ll lead products through their full lifecycle – from early scoping and development through to review, maintenance and withdrawal – and make clear, well‑reasoned recommendations based on evidence.
 
Working closely with teams across Compliance, Operations, Marketing, Industry Partnerships and Customer Support, you’ll coordinate product work, align expectations, and keep projects moving smoothly. You’ll also take the lead on ensuring quality standards and audit requirements are consistently met.
 
People leadership sits at the heart of this role. You’ll manage a small team of Product Developers and Technical Developers, support their growth, and develop consistent ways of working across the function.
 
 
Key Responsibilities
 
  • Manage the full lifecycle of products, from development through to withdrawal
  • Interpret data, insight and industry trends to inform sound product decisions
  • Shape product structures, delivery models and assessment approaches
  • Maintain strong audit trails and ensure regulatory requirements are met
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external experts to align priorities and plans
  • Lead and develop a small team, setting clear expectations and offering constructive feedback
  • Identify improvements in processes, templates and workflows
 
 
Skills / Experience Required
 
Essential:
  • Experience managing multiple products or projects simultaneously
  • Understanding of training, qualifications and/or digital learning development
  • Strong communication and stakeholder‑management skills
  • Confident people manager able to support and develop others
  • Analytical, organised, and comfortable making evidence‑based decisions
  • Ability to work with regulatory frameworks (e.g., Ofqual), even if not a specialist
 
Desirable:
  • Experience in an Awarding Organisation or regulatory environment
  • Knowledge of instructional design principles
  • Familiarity with LMS platforms or e‑learning tools
