TPP Recruitment is supporting a respected awarding organisation to recruit an Internal Quality Manager. This role offers the chance to lead audit, compliance, risk and quality assurance activities within a highly regulated environment.
 
This role would suit someone who enjoys balancing regulatory rigour with a collaborative and supportive approach, helping colleagues understand requirements and continuously improve processes rather than simply enforcing them.
 
 
Salary: £43,000 per annum
Employment type: Permanent
Working arrangements: Remote (UK based) or Hybrid options available
Working pattern: Full‑time, 35 hours per week

The organisation operates within a regulated environment and works closely with regulatory requirements, governance frameworks and quality assurance processes. They are seeking an experienced professional who can help strengthen compliance, risk management and internal quality assurance while promoting a positive and supportive culture across the organisation.
 
 
About the Role
 
Reporting to the Head of Regulation, the Internal Quality Manager will provide leadership across internal quality assurance, compliance, audit, operational risk management and data protection.
 
You will play a key role in ensuring regulatory requirements are met, leading investigations where required, managing malpractice and maladministration processes, overseeing GDPR-related activities and helping to embed a proactive approach to risk management across the organisation. The role also includes line management responsibilities and oversight of key quality assurance activities
 
 
Key Responsibilities
 
  • Lead and deliver a risk-based internal audit programme across the organisation
  • Oversee malpractice, maladministration and other regulatory investigations
  • Monitor and support ongoing compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies
  • Develop and maintain operational risk management frameworks and risk registers
  • Support organisational readiness for external audits and regulatory inspections
  • Oversee data protection processes, including data breach investigations and reporting
  • Analyse trends, risks and incidents to inform continuous improvement activities
  • Produce reports and assurance information for senior leadership and governance groups
  • Lead, motivate and support colleagues whilst promoting a positive compliance culture
  • Ensure corrective and preventative actions are implemented effectively following audits and investigations.
 
 
Skills / Experience Required
 
  • Experience working within a regulated environment, ideally within awarding organisations, education or assessment
  • Strong understanding of regulatory requirements and bodies such as Ofqual
  • Experience leading audits, compliance reviews or quality assurance activities
  • Knowledge of GDPR and data protection requirements from a regulatory perspective
  • Experience managing investigations, incidents or compliance-related cases
  • Understanding of operational risk management and risk mitigation processes
  • Previous leadership or team management experience
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
  • A supportive, collaborative leadership style focused on coaching and continuous improvement rather than enforcement
  • Ability to influence colleagues and build a culture of accountability and quality
