Due to an internal promotion, we’re supporting a leading London-based awarding body to recruit an Assessment Officer to join their Qualifications and Assessment Design team. This role sits at the heart of the assessment lifecycle, supporting the design, production, and delivery of high-quality, compliant assessments.

The Role

This role supports the assessment design processes, live assessment production and delivery cycle ensuring the creation and delivery of valid, reliable, and manageable assessments. You will facilitate and undertake tasks to support the maintenance, development, and delivery of assessments to meet the requirements of internal and external stakeholders, the regulatory bodies and customers.  You will contribute to the end-to-end assessment process, including drafting and maintaining project plans, monitoring budgets, processing invoices, reviewing qualification and assessment documents, commissioning assessments, and facilitate assessment production meetings and standard setting meetings. You will have some understanding of compliance with Regulators’ Conditions of Recognition.
 
You must have good project management and communication skills, and the ability to work across multiple projects and prioritise your own time.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provides co-ordination, administration, and project management associated with the assessment production process from commissioning to press and assessment delivery
  • Formats and proofreads, reviews assessment materials and documentation to ensure accuracy.
  • Facilitates and manages assessment production and standard setting meetings
  • Monitors the performance of subject matter experts and freelancers to ensure work meets quality standards and is completed on schedule. 
  • Provide ad-hoc support with appeals, malpractice, incidents, access arrangements, special considerations, and emergency question paper process in line with processes and policy.
  • Provide ad-hoc support on projects relating to Assessment Design, such as supporting the creation of assessment support material and sample assessments.
  • Be the secretariat for assessment specific groups, workshops, focus groups or steering group
  • Monitors the quality and performance of assigned assessments and provides information on improvements/change
  • Drives own development of technical skills on all aspects of assessment production and maintenance, processes, and best practice
  • Supports and implements changes in assessment approach.
  • Represents the Awarding Body during internal and external events, meetings, and conferences.
  • Supports with the training of subject matter experts working on assessment production
  • Be a key point of contact for financial administration within the assessment design function of the department, including raising POs, dealing with invoices and expense claims, setting up suppliers and dealing with queries about payment of suppliers.
  • Writes clear and succinct minutes with attention to detail
  • Books and arranges meetings (including rooms, taxis, couriers, catering) and makes travel bookings, as required. 

About You
  • Knowledge of assessment design principles and practice
  • Project Management skills
  • Experience of developing or maintaining assessment materials and additional resources.
  • High level of accuracy in document production and excellent proof-reading skills
  • Experience of co-ordinating and managing meetings
  • Experience of co-ordinating multiple projects concurrently to time, quality and cost.
  • Experience of a range of administration duties, budget management, minute-taking, organising meetings, calendar management
