We have seen it become increasingly more difficult to recruit experienced non-clinical staff, both full time and part time. This is a feeling that has been echoed by GP surgeries across London. With many non-clinical staff wanting to reduce their hours or leave the NHS, GP surgeries are struggling to fill their roles with either permanent or temporary staff.

Recently TPP have been involved in careers fairs within London Universities to find medical students who are looking for work alongside their studies. Providing a student with a Receptionist role means they will be able to remain in their field of interest and you will have a dedicated and enthusiastic employee.

Many of the trainee Receptionists that TPP have provided in the past have returned to the surgery during term breaks, whilst others have joined the surgeries on a permanent basis.

Taking the time to train a new member of staff can be cost effective, not only providing the student with a good and meaningful work experience, enhancing their opportunities to succeed, but also giving you the opportunity to shape a talented and potential employee.
