Our client, a leading learning disabilities charity, is looking for a Welfare Co-Ordinator to joint their team in Greenwich.

The organisation is a firm believer that people with mental health issues and learning disabilities should be treated as equals in society and they campaign to change the stigma that's attached to these people. They aim to improve quality of life, raise awareness and influence a positive change in society's views.

The role will be within a specific project very close to the organisation's heart and they are looking for someone who shares their beliefs. The role's purpose is to provide information and support to service users, supporting them to lead a fulfilling life with as much independence as possible. The service users will come to the Welfare Co-Ordinator for up-to-date, informative and accurate advice and support via phone, email or face-to-face. It is important to work in unison with carers, relevant professionals and the service users themselves.

As a Welfare Co-Ordinator, you would be expected to actively participate in different aspects of the business including fundraising activities and management meetings.

The successful candidate will be educated to degree level in a relevant field and have an in-depth knowledge of relevant legislation. A clear understanding of safeguarding alongside extensive experience in the area of work will also be required for this post.
