Volunteering Support Administrator (Temporary)

Our client a large natation health charity is seeking some temporary support in their Bristol office, sitting in the volunteering support team. This is an ASAP start for approximately 3 months.

The Volunteering Support Administrators are the first point of contact for all external volunteer enquiries and for all internal enquiries related to volunteering best practice in the charity. This role will ensure that all volunteer processes are delivered to a high standard of quality and efficiency, ensuring an excellent volunteer experience across all volunteer roles in the charity.

Duties and key responsibilities

Advice and Support

  • Provide a first point of contact, quality customer service for all matters relating to volunteering
  • Ensure that all external volunteer enquiries are dealt with in a timely professional manner and are appropriately signposted to relevant volunteer role managers and volunteering specialists across the Society
  • Manage the team email inbox and telephone line, responding appropriately to enquiries and information requests, working collaboratively with volunteering administrator colleagues to ensure full cover and timely response
  • Provide advice on volunteering related enquiries and a high level of customer support to volunteer role managers to help ensure effective volunteer engagement locally and implementation of related procedures

Data quality and reporting

  • Efficiently process volunteer related data to agreed standards, and prioritise workload as required
  • Monitor and ensure a high level of data quality, liaise with key stakeholders to ensure gaps are eliminated and to ensure compliance to agree best practice
  • Accurately record and report on related work activities, including number of volunteer enquiries and volunteer management queries

Skills and experience

  • Experience / knowledge of volunteering and the management of volunteers
  • Strong administrative experience, demonstrating use of MS Office packages for processing and reporting purposes
  • Experience of working in a customer focussed role
  • Experience of developing good working relationships with colleagues or customers
  • Experience of using a volunteering or human resources database or other type of database to input data and produce reports and documents
  • Ability to plan and prioritise own workload effectively to meet deadlines
