|Job Title||Volunteer Shore Crew - Newcastle, Northern Ireland - EXPIRED|
|Contract Type||Temporary / Interim|
|Job Published||14 Aug 2015|
|Contact Name||Volunteers Team|
The RNLI’s Lifeboat Station in Newcastle, County Down is looking to hear from anyone in the community who would be interested in volunteering for the RNLI as a Volunteer Shore Crew member to join its existing team.
A lifeboat has been stationed in Dundrum Bay for over 180 years and the crews have been honoured with 36 awards for gallantry. The station operates 2 lifeboats, an inshore D Class lifeboat and an all-weather Mersey class lifeboat.
Given the nature of life-boating the pager can go off at any time of the day or night therefore, there is often an element of unsociable hours. Being part of the team means you’re available to respond to emergencies 24 hours a day, seven days a week and committing to an extensive RNLI training program which will turn you into a lifeboat shore crew member is all part of the deal!
All of our crew follow the RNLI’s national Competency Based Training Scheme and will provide you with first class training and support to ensure that you have everything that you need to help us save lives at sea!
The station now needs new volunteer shore crew to join the team at Newcastle.
No previous maritime experience needed.
Must live or work in Newcastle.
This is a great opportunity to join a motivated, fun and enthusiastic local team whilst meeting new people within your community. You will have the satisfaction of helping to save lives at sea whilst all of the time you are building on skills and experience within a leading national charity.
To find out more, come along and meet the team at the Lifeboat Station on 22nd August between the hours of at 10am – 4pm, or email: Richard_burgess@rnli.org.uk or phone 02843 725138.
