The RNLI is the charity that saves lives at sea. We provide, on call, a 24 hour lifeboat search and rescue service around the UK and Ireland, and a seasonal lifeguard service. With our lifeboats, lifeguards, safety messages and flood rescue we are committed to saving more lives.
The RNLI’s Lifeboat Station in Poole is looking for a volunteer to join the existing team in the role of Lifeboat Treasurer.
Lifeboats at Poole have been launching into one of the world’s largest natural harbours for over 150 years. The station currently has an inshore B class Atlantic 85 lifeboat and a D class.
The role of the Lifeboat Treasurer is to administer the RNLI station bank account, ensuring that all sums donated to the lifeboat station are immediately credited to it, are properly acknowledged and are recorded on the monthly returns, and to ensure that the annual statement of account is prepared, approved, signed and returned to HQ on time.
This is a good opportunity to join a motivated and enthusiastic local team and have the satisfaction of contributing to saving lives at sea.
If you have good communication and IT skills, knowledge of accounting procedures and willingness to learn about and adhere to RNLI financial procedures this could be the role for you.
