|Job Title||Volunteer Lifeboat Press Officer - Penarth, South Wales - EXPIRED|
|Contract Type||Temporary / Interim|
|Job Published||04 Dec 2015|
|Contact Name||Volunteers Team|
The RNLI is the charity that saves lives at sea. We provide, on call, a 24 hour lifeboat search and rescue service around the UK and Ireland, and a seasonal lifeguard service. With our lifeboats, lifeguards, safety messages and flood rescue we are committed to saving more lives.
The RNLI’s Lifeboat Station in Penarth is looking for a volunteer to join the existing team in the role of Lifeboat Press Officer.
Covering part of the Bristol Channel, Penarth Lifeboat Station operates two inshore lifeboats – a B class Atlantic 85 and a D class. The Maureen Lilian and the Connie Dains have been named as a result of local fundraising efforts and appeals.
The role of the Lifeboat Press Officer is to build and maintain friendly relationships with local press, radio, television and online media, keeping the community informed of operational activity, promote newsworthy rescues and lifeboat station events, using a variety of channels, such as email, phone, or social media, using photos and video where possible.
This is a good opportunity to join a motivated and enthusiastic local team and have the satisfaction of contributing to saving lives at sea.
If you have good communication, writing and IT skills this could be just the role for you!
