|Job Title||Volunteer Heritage Researcher - Poole, Dorset|
|Contract Type||Temporary / Interim|
|Job Published||09 May 2017|
RNLI Heritage is defined as the story of our people and service since 1824. In order to preserve our history, the heritage team collect and care for objects and archives and make these accessible to researchers.
The role of Heritage Researcher offers a fascinating opportunity to join our volunteer research team and explore the history of the RNLI. Your research will be helping to equip RNLI youth education volunteers and managers to share the RNLI’s amazing lifesaving history with young people. By seeking out and collating historic images, correspondence, articles and information towards youth education project briefs, your voluntary work will underpin opportunities to reach youth audiences through RNLI heritage.
You will undertake research in the RNLI’s archive and library and provide clear summaries of your findings using a PC.
We are looking for an enthusiastic individual who is willing to give some time to get to know the library and archive and help us to provide a lively research service. You will be contributing towards raising awareness of the RNLI and supporting saving lives at sea.
