Woman’s Trust is a BACP accredited Person-Centred/Humanistic counselling service for women affected by domestic violence. 

Our essential requirements are:

  1. That counsellors need to be in personal therapy for 1 year minimum
  2. Follow the Person-Centred/Humanistic approach
  3. Be in their second year of a Diploma course
  4. Have one year experience of working with clients (30 supervised client hours or equivalent experience).

  • Possibility of working with clients with a number of presenting issues and from a variety of backgrounds

We are always interested in counsellors who have a commitment to this area of work.

Woman's Trust has an application process for counsellors interested in placements - counsellors are able to work in East London (Newham, Hackney, Tower Hamlets, Redbridge, Greenwich, Havering, Barking & Dagenham and Waltham Forest) at different times during the day.

Please note, because of the needs of women using our service, the minimum commitment is 4 clients per week.

Successful candidates will also need to be able to attend Woman's Trust 2 hrs supervision on a fortnightly basis and a 3-day induction training.

The deadline for the application is Sunday 20th March 2016 midnight; Interviews will be held on the week of the 28th March  and the training dates are: 13th, 14th and 15th April 2016.

We particularly welcome applicants from the LGBT community, over 50's, counsellors able to work in other languages and counsellors with flexible schedule.

More intakes are set during the years and applications will be accepted outside these times.
