Job Description - EXPIRED

Woman's Trust is a counselling service for women affected by domestic violence.

Our requirements are that counsellors need to be in personal therapy for 1 year minimum, follow the Person-Centred/Humanistic approach, be in their second year of a Diploma course and have one year experience of working with clients (30 - 40 supervised client hours or equivalent experience).

We are always interested in counsellors who have a commitment to this area of work. Woman's Trust has an application process for counsellors interested in placements - counsellors are able to work in West London, a variety of boroughs in East London and in Barking & Dagenham - at different times including some evenings and weekends.

For the West London these are the areas we particularly need to cover: Kensington and Chelsea, Westminster and Hammersmith and Fulham.

Please note, because of the needs of women using our service, the minimum commitment is 4 clients per week. Successful candidates will also need to be able to attend Woman's Trust 2 hrs supervision on a fortnightly basis and a 3-day induction training.

The deadline for the application is: Friday 12th December 2014 and the training dates are 14th, 15th, 16h January 2015.

Please note: There will be a £150 charge for any applicants attending the 3 day training dates. This deposit will be refunded at the end of the placement.

We particularly welcome applicants from the LGBT community, over 50's, counsellors able to work in other languages and counsellors with flexible schedule.
