Volunteer Branch Secretary – Bookham, Leatherhead, Fetcham & Effingham, Surrey
The RNLI has a network of local fundraising teams organising a wide range of activities and events which last year raised £14 million to save lives at sea. Each branch and guild is supported by a Community Fundraising Manager, although the range and frequency of fundraising events is determined by the members themselves.
Becoming part of your local fundraising team could offer you an opportunity to improve your CV, meet new people or learn new skills. Some of our team members have been volunteering for many years, some just join us for a few months – whatever their commitments allow.
Our Bookham & Leatherhead fundraising team is currently looking for a motivated Volunteer Branch Secretary to be a key member of the team running the successful fundraising branch. You will be the principal contact for the fundraising volunteers and the primary point of contact between the Bookham & Leatherhead branch and the community support team.
As Volunteer Branch Secretary you will work with the committee to decide, put in place and see through the annual programme of events and collections. This involves making sure the branch gets the various licences it needs in good time and communicating with the branch volunteers who will be taking part. You will be able to develop this exciting role to suit the time and skills you have available and to develop these skills with training provided.
This is a great opportunity to really make a difference by raising vital funds for our volunteer crew members and lifeguards.
This is a volunteer opportunity within the RNLI. RNLI volunteers are people who, unpaid and of their own free will, contribute their time, energy and skills to support the purposes of the RNLI. RNLI volunteers may perform a variety of tasks and duties, under direction and guidance, using their skills, knowledge and time to help the RNLI best achieve its objectives.
We respect and honour our volunteers by building trust and understanding. Such a partnership is not intended to be a legally binding contract or to have mutuality of obligation, but instead express a voluntary two-way commitment where everyone gains satisfaction from being part of our organisation.
We value diversity at TPP and welcome applications from all sections of the community.
