Through our membership and education work, network of outreach programmes, branch in Kensington & Chelsea and regular programme of performances - Chickenshed supports over 1,000 people every week.
Our many volunteers are involved across the organisation and they make an enormously important contribution to Chickenshed's work.
Overview of Role:
We require a highly organised and motivated volunteer to provide effective support to our Head of Theatre Management. It will involve all aspects of theatre management, from the day-to-day running of a theatre to the general care of the building and dealing with maintenance contracts.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with either academic or professional qualifications looking for further commercial experience and personal development in the field of Business and Theatre Management.
However, there is a degree of flexibility if you are eager and quick to learn and you feel you have some, but not all of the relevant skills.
This role would also be ideal for someone who is seeking to build up their CV, a graduate, a parent who is returning to work as well as an experienced professional seeking to contribute the wealth of their experience for the benefit of their local community.
Duties & Key Responsibilities:
* Provide wide ranging administrative support to the Head of Theatre Management (HTM) on the running of capital projects. That includes organising and chairing meetings, writing briefs, managing email correspondence, planning and maintaining schedules to support those projects such as costings and timelines
*Support the HTM in fulfilling financial tasks such as paying bills, updating the various TM budgets on excel and liaising with external companies regarding payments and invoices
*Fulfil a selection of administrative tasks using Microsoft Office
*Support the HTM in the smooth running of the office, keeping on top of filing, fielding calls when the HTM is in meetings and managing her diary
*Well organised and efficient
*Ability to collate data and produce spread sheets
*Good written and verbal skills
*Ability to work well as part of a team
*Ability to communicate well with the various stakeholders
*Knowledge and experience of commercial contracts would be ideal

Times and Commitment:
This is a voluntary position for someone who can give consistent support on a weekly basis. Flexible hours are possible - from a few hours a week to as full time as you would like it to be. This could be an opportunity to brush up on your skills within a busy and friendly office.
