Job Description

The charity Art in Romney Marsh, delivers an annual visual arts festival and learning programme to rural villages on Romney Marsh. The organisation provides contemporary, site specific art installations in 6 to 8 medieval churches, located in a 10 mile radius on Walland and Denge marsh in Kent. Since 2003, Art in Romney Marsh has gained a reputation for providing thought provoking and exciting art installations, music recitals and performances.  Since 2011, the organisation has worked with key community groups to bring creative and imaginative learning programmes to engage local audiences and to celebrate Romney Marsh and its unique heritage and history.

We wish to recruit Trustees to help build on the success of Art in Romney Marsh and develop our plans for the future.

We want to recruit new trustees to our Board at a significant time in our strategic development. This opportunity would suit someone who would like a first chance to bring expert skills and experience to the role or for someone who has previous experience of being a trustee.

The board of Trustees provide effective management and leadership of the organisation in line with the Charity’s objectives. The Trustees meet quarterly at our offices in New Romney. Trustees will need to have knowledge of or an interest in the arts and/or local heritage, be prepared to take on an active role, make constructive contributions to discussions, think strategically and creatively, and be committed to the overall ethos of the organisation. Art in Romney Marsh is searching for enthusiastic and experienced individuals preferably with local knowledge and with the ability to help develop and support our work.

We are particularly looking for people with knowledge and experience in:

  • financial management
  • marketing & audience development

To apply, please provide a cover letter explaining why you are interested in the role and your CV to before the 24th of February.

We value diversity at TPP and welcome applications from all sections of the community.
