Forum for the Future is an independent international non-profit charity with a 20 year track record in driving sustainable development. Our purpose is to accelerate the big shift to a sustainable future by transforming whole systems.

 

Set up in 1996, we currently work in London, New York, Singapore, Mumbai and Cheltenham. We have around 80 staff and an annual income of approximately £6 million.

 

We are recruiting two new high calibre trustees to our committed Board of Trustees. It will be for at least a three year term, and duties will be carried out mainly in London.

 

The work is highly rewarding. You will work with others on the Board and staff who have a shared belief, shared values and a shared commitment to achieving our vision to innovate solutions to systemic challenges, develop and deliver transformational strategies and to equip people to drive systemic change to catalyse a more sustainable world. We would be delighted to hear from you if you share our passion for our work.

 

We are looking for Trustees who have a track record in making a difference in their field of expertise and a deep knowledge of at least one of the countries in which we operate. You will also need a  strong strategic focus, an understanding of organisational governance and the role of a nonexecutive Trustee, plus a desire to work collectively as part of a team of trustees.

 

We are particularly interested in candidates with a significant track record of success in one of the following:

 

  • International finance practice, law and governance
  • Considerable experience in the US, including in depth knowledge of Trusts and Foundations fundraising and the wider donor world

 

It would be desirable if candidates have some expertise in one of the following, but this is not required:

 

  • System change and innovation
  • Higher Education

 

This is an exciting opportunity to help shape and steer our organisation and make a real difference.

 

Trustees are expected to attend about four meetings a year, in London.
