Lewisham Citizens Advice Bureau is a member of the national Citizens Advice (CitA) organisation. We deliver free, impartial and confidential advice to those who live, work or study in the London borough of Lewisham.

Specialist skills required
* Advise on hardware, networking and remote access
* Advise on maintenance, contracts and procurement
* Work with CEO and staff and volunteers to develop an ICT strategy
* Good practice for information sharing (internet, intranet etc)
* Input for ICT in LCAB training strategy and work plan
* Best practice in managing website
* Knowledge and understanding of telephony and helplines would be useful
* lead for trustees on devising, implementing and reviewing an IT strategy, and
* Drafting, implementation and regular review of mandatory policies linked to IT:
- Appropriate use of ICT
- Data protection, and
- Information assurance
* To engage with our national organisation Citizens Advice on ICT and other matters

Person Specification
* Commitment and availability to attend quarterly trustee board meetings and other events
* Availability to attend quarterly stakeholder meetings (day time)
* Effective communication skills and willingness to participate actively in discussion and
decision making on all issues facing the business
* Willingness to gain knowledge of local needs and resources
* Commitment to the aims, principles and policies of LCAB, including those relating to
equalites and social policy
* Willingness and ability to act in the best interests of the organisation
* Ability to understand and accept the responsibilities and liabilities as a trustee and as an
* Willingness to participate in the democratic process which develops Lewisham CAB policies
* Ability to understand financial accounts
* Willingness and ability to learn, to develop and to examine their own attitudes
* Ability to think creatively and strategically, and exercise good, independent judgement
* Ability to work effectively as a member of a team

Hours you require the volunteer for:
Four quarterly, evening trustee board meetings a year (2 hours plus prep time each)
Four quarterly, day-time meetings with stakeholders (2 hours plus prep time each)
One trustee awayday (Saturday in May - 5 hours)
One evening stakeholder event (2 hours)
One annual day time event for trustees, staff and volunteers (6 hours)
Trustee CPD opportunities at Conferences etc (optional)
