RNLI's heritage is defined as the 'the never-ending story of our people', our aim is to utilise our extraordinary heritage to help inspire both current and future generations of supporters and lifesavers to enable the RNLI to continue to save lives at sea.

To ensure the collection of objects and archives, that tell the proud story of this Institution, are protected and used in the correct manner, the RNLI has setup an independent trust.

We are looking for an inspirational person to fill this unique opportunity and we are seeking somebody who is currently, or has previously been, a senior professional in the heritage sector.

In particular we are looking for someone with experience as a Trustee or with expertise in the following areas:

*Collections care - conservation and documentation
*Archives (digital and paper based)

Are you confident with governance, protection and promoting a heritage organisation? Do you want an opportunity to bring your expertise to a national charity with a fascinating history? This role would suit somebody who is highly motivated and has the vision to seek and advise on opportunities.

You may already have been a successful leader in your professional life or this may be an area you wish to develop further; in either case we would like to hear from you.

The role holder will be home based with some travel required. There will be a minimum of one meeting per year in London plus other ad hoc meetings and general support required. The end date for this role is 26th April 2015.
