The Moldova Project supports families living in poverty in Moldova, Europe's poorest country, so they can become self-sufficient and live happier, healthier and safer lives. We are looking for a new Trustee with expertise in communications who can help us to raise the profile of our organisation so that we can stay in touch with current supporters and reach new audiences. The Trustee will also need to fulfil other governance responsibilities as a member of our board, which consists of 8 Trustees.
The activities the Trustee would take responsibility for are:
We have no paid staff in the UK, so the Trustees are very active and place a vital role in keeping the charity going. Sub-committees are formed to support each function, so the post-holder will be supported with the activities above but will take the lead on them.
We would love to hear from someone who has time and energy to devote to our organisation, as well as expertise in some or all of the areas listed above. The minimum expected commitment is 10 hours per month, as well as attendance at quarterly meetings. Trustees also communicate by email regularly.
The Moldova Project has grown quickly and significantly since it was founded in 2008, so it's an exciting time to join our board. The Trustees are responsible for creating and funding new projects as well as overseeing existing ones, so it's a good chance for someone creative with an interest in poverty relief or community development to apply their skills to helping some of Europe's poorest people. There is an annual opportunity for Trustees to visit our projects in Moldova.
Most Trustees are based in London but we would be happy to accept applicants from anywhere in the UK as long as they are willing to travel for meetings occasionally.

Closing date for applications is Friday 8th September.
